Lots of Change and No Strep - June 1, 2014

Went to bed last night with a terrible sore throat and woke up with an even worse one.  Yuck.  I got myself to the clinic to make sure that I did not have strep throat.  I didn't, which was good news.  Guess it was just a cold coming on.  I hate sickness.  But the clinic was near Kohl's and I knew there would be many things to try on.  I couldn't help myself.

So this was a challenging changing room to take pictures in. Just one set of mirrors in the corner, one big angled one, and two on the wall.  Anyway,  I walked in wearing this fetching outfit.  Thrift store all the way baby.

It was hard to get a good picture of this black dress.  It was one of those bi level dresses with a shorter solid skirt under a long sheer skirt.  I thought of this as mostly a young look and I think I will stick with that.  This was a nice dress and comfortable.  I like me a tank so the top was good.  Overall, I would wear this.  I included a hanger photo of the dress for a different perspective.  This dress was marked $60 but it Kohls where everything is marked down and this dress was 40% off.

The picture of this one looks worse than I was thinking this looked when I was in the changing room.  I like it there but not so much here.  It is also a long dress and I not so much a fan the the ankle length anything.  I had to try on a chevron since the trend is everywhere.  It now my thing so this dress would be a pass.  It was marked with the same price as the one above.

So lace is trending so I just needed to try something made with lace.  I can say I am not a fan.  This dress was a size to large, but I also think that Kohls is very generous with their sizing.  There was just too many things not right about this.  The worse was a tiny ribbon belt to tie in the front.  No Thanks!!!  Another $60 dress marked down 40%

This is swinging into unknown territory for me on this dress.  This is a dress that required a full body shaper to do it justice.  I was fun and I really liked the print a whole bunch.  It is stretch all over and in intended to be form fitting, but I just couldn't go there.  Lots to like about it though, but would you see me wearing it out. Not gonna happen.  Just a silly one to try.  This dress was $70 marked down 30%.

This dress would be my version of everyday.  Boring, simple, comfortable, and easy.  This would be a go to item that could be paired with lots of thing.  It is a pretty cheap dress also, under $25 with the mark down. The truth about this dress is that it a slightly dolled up T-Shirt.

Same Place, Different Day - May 31, 2014

So I went back to Fred Meyer's again today.  I is just the closest place with clothing and changing room to my home.  The clothing is affordable and the selection is adequate.   I admit that in really don't purchase clothes here, but I shop and spend my money here often.  I think that I am even in the same room that I went into yesterday.

So here I am wearing another stylish outfit.  This is thrift store top and some elastic waisted double knit shorts. Comfy, easy and no shape at all.  This tend to be my norm pretty much most of the time.

My twin sister is scheduled for bariatric surgery in two weeks time.  She has been directed by her medical team to be on a complete liquid diet.  There suggestion was for her to only drink 4 cartons of Boost a day until her surgery in mid June.  The reasons for this is that it will shrink the size of her liver and make the surgery safer.  I told her that I would support her and do the same diet with her.

But on to the clothes.....  I pick a dress and separates.  I normally wear skirts quit often, so I am always attracted to them.

So this blue dress had this bubble pattern that i though was interesting.  I normally stay away from full pattern fabrics and i think that this dress proves that it is a good idea.  Man, was this about as old lady dress as I could find.  I really did think it look that way on the hanger, but putting it, I hated it.  The neckline and the sleeves were the worst.  The ruching maybe not that bad, but over all, YIKES.  (sorry for the blurry pic)

So now for this skirt and cami.  Another yikes.  The cami was way more shear then I thought it would be so the second picture was taken with my thrift store shirt.  I would NOT wear that cami by itself.  It is definitely an undershirt.  The skirt was just meh.  Big, huge, monstrous waist band that would not roll, but for me would slip up to it sat under my boobs.  I really liked the color and the pattern on the shirt, but I think I grab a size too big for me.  This is not an outfit that I would wear, but was worth a try.

My first change. May 30, 2014

I am at Fred Meyers-Gresham and this is with is what I went into the changing room wearing. Yep, trailer trash.  The tank was from the thrift store, the stretchy blue cropped pants are from Kmart, and the shoes areWalmart

I picked out a couple of dresses to try. Neither one of the was what I would consider being my fashion but what the hell. Might as well try something new

I was surprised by this first one. Made my small chest look slightly larger and would be comfortable to wear. It's problem is it is meant for a more endowed individual then myself. The color and pattern I like.

This dress came as the bigger surprise. I really liked it and felt very comfortable in it. It was frilly and girly but also professional looking. Office wear but also something that would work for an event.
